Micromussa, formerly known as Acanthastrea lordhowensis, are one of the most colourful and rewarding LPS corals for reef aquariums. Their fleshy polyps and vibrant patterns make them a standout addition, while their hardy nature makes them suitable for both beginners and experienced reef keepers.

For best results, place Micromussa in the lower areas of the aquarium under low to moderate lighting (25–50 PAR) with gentle water flow. Feed 1–2 times per week with meaty foods such as mysis shrimp to encourage faster growth, fuller polyp extension, and enhanced colouration. Maintain stable water parameters with a temperature of 24–27°C, salinity of 1.023–1.026, alkalinity of 8–11 dKH, calcium between 380–450 ppm, and low but measurable nutrients for long-term health.
