The Fungia Plate Coral (Fungia granulosa) is a hardy, free-living LPS coral known for its colourful, disc-shaped appearance and ease of care. An excellent choice for both beginner and experienced reef keepers, it thrives in stable reef aquariums and makes a striking addition to the sand bed.

For best results, place your Fungia Coral directly on a soft sandy substrate under moderate to low lighting (80–150 PAR) with gentle, indirect water flow that keeps debris from settling on the coral. Feed 1–2 times per week with meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, or quality coral pellets to encourage healthy growth, vibrant colouration, and full tissue expansion. Leave adequate space around your Fungia, as it can extend sweeper tentacles to defend its territory. Maintain stable water parameters with a temperature of 24–26°C, salinity of 1.024–1.026, pH of 8.1–8.4, alkalinity of 8–10 dKH, calcium between 400–450 ppm, magnesium between 1250–1350 ppm, and low but measurable nutrients for long-term success.
